Unteruhldingen is conveniently situated for almost every activity you can think of. There are a number of recreational clubs and sports venues at your disposal, all of which are close by.

Not so much into sports? The Lake is also famous for its wellness resorts and spas. Whether you’d like to enjoy healthy mud baths and full-body massages or ride the water slides, you will find that you need no longer than just 20 minutes to drive to the next spa.

This is also true if you’re looking into shopping excursions. A five minute drive will take you to Meersburg, where a car ferry will take you across the lake to the city of Constance – the lake’s largest city. We recommend you leave your car in one of the large parking lots and explore the city by foot – you don’t want to miss all the tiny specialty shops!

But it’s not just the proximity to just about any location you could think of that makes Unteruhldingen the place to be when visiting Lake Constance. Last year, the Hotel Seehof opened the Lake Terrace – a large patio by the lake’s shore, with a beautiful view over the picturesque harbour of Unteruhldingen. The Lake Terrace offers Mediterranean flair, creative cuisine, and lifestyle at the lake. The Hotel Seehof

It was an exciting journey from the early, country-style hotel to today’s Hotel Seehof, a journey that started halfway around the world. The Wesch family bought the historic building and molded it into a modern, comfortable, and respected establishment. “When we first looked at the hotel in Unteruhldingen, we immediately knew where we’d like to go with it”, remembers Markus Wesch. He and his wife Jannelle were captivated by the amazing location and the history of the building. “I was born and raised in Unteruhldingen, and with the Hotel Seehof, my wife and I have fulfilled our long-desired dream.”

After 18 years in the Caribbean, where Markus met and married his wife Jannelle, the two decided to purchase the old country hotel. They transformed this historic establishment into today’s avant-garde Hotel Seehof.

Located directly by the water, in the beautiful village of Unteruhldingen, the Hotel Seehof is definitely worth a stay for every tourist headed to Lake Constance.

During the day: Relax & Spa at the Lake

Lean back, as you enjoy the warmth of the sun with a cocktail in your hand. The Hotel Seehof provides a comfortable venue for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of the Lake.

A seagull flies by and draws your attention to the Unteruhldingen marina, where small sailing boats and medium-sized yachts are moored. The Lake Terrace is located directly across from the shore of Lake Constance, and offers a perfect view over the picturesque harbour of this small village which lies between Meersburg and Überlingen.

The sun is shining and showers you with heat. Fortunately, there is a cool, refreshing breeze from the lake. The cocktail in your hand isn’t bad either.

Your sunglasses donned, you take in the beautiful and impressive view and soak up the laid back atmosphere – except for the attentive waiter, who promptly serves you with a fresh, cold drink, whenever you desire it.

During the evening: Drinks & Dining at the Lake

As soon as the sun slowly starts to sink beyond the horizon, and the many small sailing boats are neatly tied up in the marina, another side of this small village at Lake Constance awakes. Because your drink is empty, you decide to go to your room, freshen up, and then take a look around.

After you’ve dressed for dinner in your lake-view room, you return to the Lake Terrace. Here, the sun has already set and you can hear soft music in the distance.

The hotel staff greets you again and asks if you’d like another drink. You decide against that and instead, order an original Caribbean Shrimp Ceviche, followed by a fish dish, soaked in rum, which is the fresh catch of the day, coupled with a bottle of wine.

The passion fruit & mango sauce, which makes this dish an experience, perfectly complements the Auxierros from the Aufricht winery in Meersburg – Yellow Burgundy, QbA, Selection dry – a wine which has been grown directly on the shore of Lake Constance; a wine which is now resting next to your plate on the recommendation of the Chef.
